Don’t Be A Wussy- Stay in the Game and Focus!

Hey how are you feeling today? I FEEL GREAT!!  Jim Rohn recommends we keep a journal.  In one of his lessons he says it’s good to look back on your goals and aspirations to see where you are today.

Zig Ziglar provides you with an opportunity to do a quick exercise to ‘Evaluate where you are’.  I AM VERY AWARE that the life I’m living today (3rd September 12) is not the life I want to live. My long term goals are to become financially free.  To spend more time doing the things I enjoy and to show my family and friends how much I adore them.

To achieve these goals I have to work harder on myself mentally.  I also have to take consistent daily action with UPMOST CERTAINITY! How do I know this?  Well every day I listen to very successful people who at some point started out with nothing.  These remarkable world leaders are changing people’s lives daily.  More important than that one day they made a decision to change their own lives.  These leaders understand the laws of the universe and have used their stories to pass on their knowledge.  I relate to their stories.  I am also INSPIRED by the stories of the people they are directly helping.  I believe my life will only get better when I get better!

I love Brian Tracy’s video on the ‘Habits of Success’. If you’re familiar with this session I hope you enjoyed it as much as me.  I’ve personally watched this video repeatedly because I am searching for a better quality of life. Raising my children alone has been difficult financially and at times emotionally.

Like you over the years I’ve overcome challenges.  Like when I decided to take action and return to full time education even though my son was one year old. Studying with children was not easy.  However my determination and consistent effort ensured I was able to graduate before he entered primary school.  This gave me a fantastic boost of self-confidence.

In 2010 a chance meeting in London enabled me to reconnect with someone who inspired me during my university years. Seeing Professor Stephen Chan provided an opportunity to reflect on my personal growth.  Professor Chan had always taken an interest in his students so he was delighted to hear I was in London to deliver a training session on the ‘Challenges of the ‘Big Society’ to the National School of Government.  How did we get to speak to the most senior policy makers in the civil service?  We were invited to be there because we took massive and consistent action to get our message heard.

My self-confidence reached a massive high again yesterday. I admit I did not realise the POWER OF THE INTERNET until this point.  After nine months of feeling sorry for myself. I decided to check the number of hits our ebook entitled ‘The No Nonsense Guide’ has received to date. To my AMAZEMENT with no marketing effort at ALL our free download has been viewed by a staggering 26,735 people!

Over the last three days I’ve listened intensely to David & Dave and other leaders.  I am so glad I did as these new EXICTABLE voices have sharpened my focus. I am REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE LIFE I CAN CREATE FOR MYSELF.  I am taking action on eight simple core steps.  I feel proud of myself. I am striving to be my own master every day of my life.  My accomplishments in the last two days are ALREADY PRODUCING the results I expected.

“One must be willing to be their own Master”- Barry Donaldson

You may be reading my second blog as a direct response to me asking for your email address.  Thank you for taking action. My first blog sets the scene to my hunger to share my story.  If you’ve ever checked out Jim Rohn’s The Magic of part time you’ll understand his famous quote “profits and better than wages”.  My social business had not made a profit.  My frustration intensified.  How could I help others if I was struggling to help myself?

I have invited you to read my story so you can understand my desire to immediately take control of my life.  Tony Robbins teaches us our rituals define us.  After taking action on his advice my new rituals include daily walks and reading as much as I can.  I am now committed to take action to blog.  If you like stories I invite you to come back to my blogspot .

I stumbled on a youtube video showcasing a speech by a multi-millionaire Barry Donaldson.  The speech entitled “Freedom” had an immediate impact on me. As many are aware the job market has been slow.  I needed to increase my income so at the start of 2011 I was motivated to start an active job search.  I quickly realised how much things had changed. The last time I applied for employment was back in 2008.  Four years ago my skills, knowledge and qualifications made me immediately employable.

If you know me personally you’ll be aware of my project management experience.  As I frantically searched for professional opportunities I appreciated how competitive roles had become. Working within the social enterprise sector locally I was becoming active in the debate on the ‘Big Society and the role of social entrepreneurship’.  However, the reality was the cuts in the public sector were also affecting other social entrepreneurs.  The people we set out to help wanted access to our educational programmes but did not value themselves enough to pay for the knowledge.  From our establishment we've been clear about our social enterprise model.  We do not want to set up a charity at this stage of our development.

I could not allow external factor such as cuts in public funding and the recession to continue to impact my internal world.  I had to act quickly to try and improve my situation.  I realised sales roles were the most accessible opportunities.  I enjoy communicating with people, so selling someone else’s product needed to become my focus.

I needed peace of mind.  My own personal expenses were being covered without the constant worry self employment brings.  I knew the restrictions of working for someone again.  I didn’t care I only had the mental energy to focus on my potential earning ability.  My personal and business debts were mounting.  ~i needed to get the money in quickly.  Ironically, despite my own problems it did not take me long to become a top performer for a debt management firm!

I left the debt management industry in May to move into the renewable energy sector.  After nine months working full as an employee for others I feel as though I can now share my experience.

In terms of the Social Solutions Academy our reputation for organising networking events temporarily lost its momentum.  I have kept a low profile for a number of reasons.  I needed to realign myself with the vibration in the vortex.  Starting any business is tough.  Listening to a range of motivational speakers has really helped me put things into perspective.  I needed to work full time on my income.

I’ve humbly started to work on my social business again on a part time.  I needed to believe that the energy and commitment I had for our education programme would return.  I continued to listen intently to Abraham Hicks, Les Brown, Chris Howard, Bob Proctor Jim Rohn, and Brian Tracey.  The pace has picked up very quickly again.  The most amazing thing that is happening is based on minimal hours we are preparing to deliver Action for Social Enterprise Nigeria.

Barry Donaldson advises “One must be willing to be their own master”.  The story of freedom Barry yearned for was written before he started to make money in his business.  His self-belief enabled him to take action to achieve his goals.

If you gave me your email address was it because you are seeking to change your life? If so, I’d like to introduce you to the teachings of David Wood.  He has shown me a way to work full time on my income as Jim Rohn advises.  However, what he has already started to teach me is a simple way to ensure I can maintain my part time activities required for my social business.  In doing so, I will be able to achieve my personal goals by reaching out to people we are seeking to educate.  All I’ve got to do is continue to make it happen!

A little about my life right now (August 12)

Hello my name is Vanessa! I am a 36 year old single parent with two teenage children.  I am engaged to a wonderful man named Mark.  We met online last year and we’re very excited about planning our wedding next summer!  We’ll be getting married in Hungary where Mark is originally from.  Mark proposed very quickly into our relationship.  Our connection is very strong.  We are in love.  If we’d had the money sooner we’d already be married.

During the first part of 2012 I was happy and contented with my home life.  After many years of being single I’d finally attracted genuine love into my life. Thank you friends and family for supporting me during my single years.  You helped me to believe my desire to meet someone to love, trust and share life experiences with would manifest.  Mark and I have a great relationship  we know we have much to look forward to.  The pictures I had created in my dream book for love and marriage are truly coming to life!  My prayers are being answered.

My love energy for Mark, my children, family, friends and my customers lives in the vortex.   My social business activities are operating inside the vortex once again.  So why was it that between November 2011 and April this year. The love and energy I had for my social business disappeared almost overnight?  In terms of my business life I was a broken woman.

My self-esteem was extremely low.  My confidence in my own abilities had been severely knocked.  I began to feel totally unmotivated.  I was scared to continue to believe in my own certainty of success and was therefore failing to take action.   Was I a hypocrite? I began to question why had I bothered to spend hundreds of hours last year designing an educational programme? For the last two years I've been constantly buzzing because I was working on my life purpose. It felt great to be in an environment encouraging others to take action in their own lives and businesses.

By the end of April I started to ask myself what is happening to me. At the start of 2011 I was optimistic and buzzing with ideas.  As a team we were determined to create an amazing learning experience for our delegates.

After months of planning and hard work by the end of summer 2011 I was busy and happy.  Anything that involves you working on your life purpose is going to make feel high.   We were determined to deliver a second high quality learning event for university students.

Action for Social Enterprise 2011 was a great success in terms of its attendance, educational content, speakers, networking opportunities and delivery.  The testimonials we gathered from our participants were amazing.  By the end of day two we knew we had improved on our first event, which had also received positive feedback.

So why did I mentally and emotionally feel like shit? Well, mentally I was drained and financially the event had made a loss.  Inside my head I was screaming “Hey this was not the outcome we had planned for!” Basically unforeseen circumstances meant we did not generate enough income in sales and sponsorship to cover the cost of the event.  What had I done wrong I asked myself?

I am passionate about building a movement. I would like to be part of the generation working to make positive changes in the world.   As you get to learn more about my story you will see the success of our educational programme is not just about sales for me. However in business terms my attempt to focus my time and energy on what I really wanted to do with my life had unfortunately back fired on me personally.

As well as the design of our education programme I had worked hard to secure contract opportunities.  The hours spent with various sub-contractors were simply not equating to enough money to cover my business and personal costs.  I am an award winning and nominated Social Entrepreneur.   However, I was not making enough money to reward me for my efforts.  I needed to get a full time job fast!

I am now actively involved in the renewable energy industry.  I love my developing 'green' credentials, but know there is a lot for me to learn!   I needed to generate regular money to start to heal emotionally.  Financially things are starting get back on track.  My confidence in my success is aligned to the vortex.   Things can only get better now I have found some really valuable marketing information to help me live my life according to my life plan.
